Keukenhof
Flower exhibition ground, one of the most popular attractions in Holland. Main exhibition period is approximately end of March to end of May, but
exhibitions outside this period also occur.

Portuguese Synagogue
Synagogue from 1675, erected by Jews who fled Spain and Portugal in the 15th century. This building is completely intact, despite the German occupation. The lighting inside is provided by the (over 1,000) candles
only.
Artis
Amsterdam's zoo. Artis also houses the Geographical Museum of Amsterdam, a zoological museum, a butterfly house, and a planetarium.

Royal Palace Amsterdam / Koninklijk Paleis
The Palace was originally built as the city hall of Amsterdam, but now in use by the Royal House. It is famous for its paintings, sculptures and furniture.It is generally open to the public, if not used for official occasions.
Nieuwe Kerk / New Church
big 16th century church at Dam Square (has large exhibitions regularly)
Oude Kerk / Old Church
The oldest church in Amsterdam (15th century).
Westerkerk
Church next to the Anne Frank house. Used for services on Sunday, also has (organ) concerts and other performances.
Madame Tussaud's
This famous wax museum has a branch at Dam Square.
Windmill 'de Otter'
Built in 1638, this is one of the hidden treasures of Amsterdam. May be moved out of Amsterdam because of new apartment buildings built around it, taking away the wind.
Amsterdam Dungeon
scary labyrinth ('entertaining, ironic, fun and gruesome experience involving professional actors.')
Molen van Sloten / Sloten Windmill
Windmill in the outskirts of Amsterdam, accessible to the public. There is also a coopery museum (about the production of wooden casks for storing food and wine, etc.)

Begijnhof (Beguinage)

Catholic church at Singel 448, very close to the Flower Market. Has a beautiful (restored in 2001) colourful interior.
Oude Lutherse Kerk
church from 1633, also used as concert location
Cristofori
Location for concerts (but also for meetings, and an official marriage location), in a beautiful 17th century canal house.
Mozes en Aaron Kerk (church)
Roman catholic church near Waterlooplein Market (but without Sunday services). Has sometimes exhibitions, music, church organ performances, etc.
Oosterkerk
17th century church, now used as neighbourhood centre, and also location for concerts and exhibitions.
Arcam
Amsterdam centre for architecture. Has regular exhibitions of architectural themes (often free of charge).
Fo Guang Shan Temple (Zeedijk temple)
Buddhist temple near the Nieuwmarkt. Has tours for groups and individuals (see 'Contact').
