The (live) nativity scene is part of the 'Pink Christmas' event, which is organized by a number of gay bars during Christmas.
Pink Christmas, of which the Pink Christmas market on December 21 is the central event, takes place from December 18 to 28.

The live nativity scene will have 'Trava Maria, Furry Joseph and the Three Hunky Wisemen'. The scene will be set up in the garden of the gay bar Arc, at Reguliersdwarsstraat 44.
Visitors can have their picture taken with the nativity scene.

The Christian gay organization RefoAnders has demanded apologies for what it calls 'the respectless way Christmas is depicted'. ProGay, the organizer of the event, has said it does not find the nativity scene respectless, and wants to have a debate with the religious organization.

Other religious organizations have also complained.
