No longer free internet in Amsterdam Public Libary

published: Thursday, December 15 2011, 2:16PM

Starting January 1 2012, the OBA (the public library in Amsterdam) will no longer offer free internet or wifi.

Especially the central library near the Central Station in Amsterdam had become very popular because of the many computers with internet connection, and the free wireless internet.

As of January 1, you must become a member or buy a visitor's pass for E 15,-. The visitor's pass is valid for a year, and gives 3 hours of internet access per day in the Central Library near the Central Station (other branches only 30 minutes).

Tip: the last time we tried, the restaurant on the ground floor offered free WiFi.
