Name 'Opstapper' bus changed into 'Stop/Go'

published: Wednesday, January 09 2008, 5:34PM

The 'Opstapper' bus line has changed its name into 'Stop/Go'.
The route is also extended.

The bus line goes up and down along the Prinsengracht canal, 7 days a week, between 9.00am and 5.30pm and costs EUR 1,- per ride.

The bus line is different from other lines because it does not have bus stops, but needs to be flagged down by people who want to use it.

The line now goes from the City Hall/Opera House (Waterlooplein), along the Amstel, then the entire Prinsengracht, Brouwersgracht, Central Station, Oosterdok.
A map is on the GVB site.

The extension of the line is the part between Central Station and Oosterdok. This is the location of the new Central Public Library, and the temporary location of the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam's modern art museum). Later this year, the new Conservatory (music school) will also be opened here.
