The Winter Magic Amsterdam festival features four spectacular events during the holiday season along with the possibilty to enjoy a canal cruise every evening in boats that have been specially decorated with lights and colors for the occasion.

The festival we be officially opened by the mayor of Amsterdam on the 10th of December, after which the decorated boats can be seen cruising through the canals of Amsterdam.
The light show which opens the festival is designed by the company Philips.

The main event, the Christmas Canal Parade is on the 23rd of December when some 40 boats decorated with lights, music, costumes etc. will parade through the Prinsengracht. This year’s theme, “Light Festivals of the World” was chosen to honour the 178 different nationalities currently living in our city.
