DJ Magazine organizes the election every year, and is considered one of the most prestigious magazines in the field.
DJ Tiësto (also Dutch) came second on this year's list (he won the election in 2002, 2003 and 2004).

Last year, Armin van Buuren ranked second, and Tiësto third.

Van Buuren says the election is 'a dream come true'. 'It is a prize of dance admirers in the whole world'.
