The Canal Festival is one of the well-known festivals in Amsterdam.

This year it takes place from August 14 to 22. The festival consists of numerous performances of classical music, mainly in the centre of town, but also along the IJ river, just East of the centre.

The most popular and famous event is the Prinsengracht Concert, a (free) classical music performance on a float in the Prinsengracht canal, in front of the Pulitzer Hotel.
