Today a woman was shot and seriously injured in the shopping mall 'Kalvertoren' in Kalverstraat, in the centre of Amsterdam.
The shopping mall is always busy, particularly on Sundays. After the shooting a panic broke out, and the mall was completely evacuated.
The shooting happened in the HEMA department store, in the basement of the mall.
Later in the afternoon, a Turkish man was arrested in connection with the shooting. Police say the shooting probably had to do with a personal affair.
The woman who was shot was seriously injured, but her life is not in danger.
