Weather problems on airport continue

Schiphol airport continues to have problems with the weather.

Fog deteriorated this morning the problems already caused by the heavy snowfall, and the cold.

It is expected that delays and flight cancellations will continue during the day, also because more snow is expected in the course of the afternoon.

Last night, hundreds of stranded passengers had to sleep on the airport. Apparently, there are not enough beds and provision of information is not optimal.

Arrivals and departures can also be seen on Dutch tv, through teletext. The information number is 0900-72447465.

Road traffic is less affected today, and the public transport within Amsterdam has assumed more or less regular service.

The Dutch Railways are operating with less (but longer) trains, so that they can flexibly fix any problems. Delays appear to be minimal.
