Source of legionella outbreak known

The health authorities in Amsterdam have determined the most likely cause of the legionella outbreak earlier this week.

A cooling tower next the Post CS building is probably the cause of the outbreak. The building temporarily houses the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam's modern art museum).

The cooling tower had already been switched off on Tuesday, as the health authorities found it one of the possible sources of contamination.

No new cases of legionella have been reported in the last few days.
