Saturday Pegida and anti-Pegida demonstration in Amsterdam

Tomorrow (Saturday, February 6) there will be two demonstrations in Amsterdam: one organized by Pegida, and an anti-Pegida demonstration.

Pegida is an anti-Islam, anti-immigration organization, originating from Germany, with a branch in the Netherlands. They grew on the influx of refugees from the Middle-East and Africa.

The Pegida demonstration wil be held from 3 to 5 pm, in front of the City Hall (river Amstel side).
The anti-Pegida demonstration is from 1pm to 3pm, near the statue of the Dokwerker, see here for location.

The two demonstrations are held at different times and locations, so as to avoid (violent) confrontations.

The organizations that organize the anti-Pegida demonstration will donate E 5,- to a refugee volunteer organization (Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland), for each participant of the Pegida-demonstration. This demo is expected to attract some 300 to 500 participants.
