Royals don't park for free any more in Amsterdam

The special parking permits for the 4 princes who live in Amsterdam, and their wives, have been revoked.

The princes Maurits, Bernhard junior, Pieter-Christiaan and Floris had received a special parking permit, normally intended for care workers. According to Amsterdam officials, this was a safety measure, necessary to limit the amount of movements they have to make outside a car.

Since a few months it is possible to pay your parking ticket with a mobile phone, so you don't have to leave your car to pay.
Starting tomorrow, the princes will have to pay for parking, like ordinary citizens.
