Portuguese Synagogue

Synagogue from 1675, erected by Jews who fled Spain and Portugal in the 15th century. This building is completely intact, despite the German occupation of Amsterdam during World War II.
The lighting inside is provided by the (over 1,000) candles only, there is no electricity.
