Pathé - Tuschinski

Pathé - Tuschinski

Art deco movie theatre from the 1920's.
Amsterdams (and probably Hollands) most beautiful cinema, an absolute must-see if you go to the movies.

The theater was named after Abraham Icek Tuschinski, a Polish (Jewish) immigrant who set up the theater in 1921. He was killed in Auschwitz in 1942.
During the Nazi occupation of Holland the theater was called Tivoli, as Tuschinski sounded too Jewish.
