One stop service shop for public transport in Amsterdam Central Station

Tourists in Amsterdam no longer need to go to several information offices for their public transport needs. In Amsterdam Central Station is now the one-stop OV-service shop.

The OV-servicewinkel can give information and sell tickets for all forms of public transport.
Trains, buses, trams, metro, be they local, regional, national or international, you can do all your public transport business at one desk.

This also means you can buy the OV-chipcard here, that is required for all public transport in the Netherlands. Plus, you can load money onto it and have it activated for the public transport companies you're going to need.

With the one stop concept in mind, all staff are trained to know everything about all public transport companies. For Amsterdam this is NS (for trains), GVB (all public transport in Amsterdam), and Connexxion and EBS (for regional bus lines to and from Amsterdam).

In the shop you can also find (touch) screens where you can plan your route to populare destinations. This service is also in English. You can choose between a route by public transport, walking or by bicycle - and when you're done you can print the advice for free.

The OV-servicewinkel is opened 7 days a week, from 7am to 11pm. It is located in the IJ-hal, which is at the far Northern end of the Central Station.
