Mural of Johan Cruijff revealed in Amsterdam East

In the neighbourhood 'Park de Meer', a large mural painting in honour of Johan Cruijff has been revealed last week.

The mural has been painted on the side wall of an apartment building in the neighbourhood 'Park de Meer'. The neighbourhood has been named after the soccer stadium 'de Meer' that was located here. Street names and bridges in the neighbourhood have been named after famous soccer players and soccer stadiums in other parts of the world. One of the bridges is the Johan Cruijffbrug.

The unveiling was done by mayor Eberhard van der Laan, together with Johan Cruijff's widow, Danny Cruijff.

The painting was made by the Brazilian artist Paulo Consentino. The mural is 13 by 8 meter large.
