Metro services Amsterdam back to normal after collision

Yesterday, two metro trains collided near the Wibautstraat station in Amsterdam East.

There were 31 people injured, 9 of them were brought to a hospital. There were no serious injuries.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, there had been a fire alarm in a metro car near Central Station. The metro stations Central Station, Nieuwmarkt and Waterlooplein were evacuated.

The metro car that caused the smoke alarm was later transported to the Wibautstraat station. A metro train collided with this metro car.

At 7am this morning, all metro lines could start their normal service.
