Extra accommodation for Amsterdam homeless because of frost

The homeless people in Amsterdam will not have to spend the night outside in the coming cold night.

Temperatures are expected to drop to -9 degrees Celsius in Amsterdam, causing various help institutions to create extra sleeping places for the homeless.
'We can not allow people to die of the cold', said a spokesperson of the Salvation Army. The extra accommodation is organized by the municipal health authorities.

The police will act against homeless persons who refuse to make use of the accommodation. If necessary, they will be arrested and placed in custody.
