The world-famous Dutch soccer star Johan Cruijff died of cancer today, in his city of residence Barcelona.
UPDATE 26 MARCH: A book of condolence will be available for signing in the Amsterdam Arena, from 3pm to 9pm on Saturday March 26.
Johan Cruijff was born in Amsterdam, in April 1947, in the neighbourhood 'Betondorp', on the address Akkerstraat 32. This location has been an attraction for Cruijff admirers, for some time. Now it is getting busy: the first flowers have already been laid in front of the house.
Flowers are also being laid at the statue of Johan Cruijff at the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium.
On Saturday March 26 there will be an opportunity for everyone to sign a book of condolence, in the ArenA soccer stadium (3-9pm), the home of soccer team Ajax, where Cruijff started his career. The exact time is still unknown.
