Digital Jewish monument for Jews in the Netherlands

A digital monument website has been opened, commemorating all Jews who were persecuted in the Netherlands during the Nazi occupation.

The Digital Monument to the Jewish Community in the Netherlands is an Internet monument dedicated to preserving the memory of all men, women and children who were persecuted as Jews during the Nazi occupation [of the Netherlands] and did not survive the Shoah.

In total, 103,000 persons are listed.

The Monument lists basic data for each of these individuals, such as first and last names, date and place of birth, date and place of death and the address where they lived. In many cases, information is also available about the family members who lived with them and their occupation.

Visitors to the website can contribute information, if they know more about certain individuals.

The initiator of the Digital Monument to the Jewish Community in the Netherlands is Professor I. Lipschits.
