The design for the commemorative monument for Theo van Gogh (the filmmaker who got murderded on November 2 2004), is now on display in the Rijksmuseum.
The monument is to be placed in the Oosterpark, in Amsterdam East, early 2007. The statue is 4.6 meter high, and will be located very close to the place where Theo van Gogh was stabbed to death by a Muslim extremist.
The final design (by Jeroen Henneman) for the statue has now been acquired by the Rijksmuseum.
It will be displayed in a special room, together with a previous version of the design, and some of the items that were placed by the public on the pavement shortly after Van Gogh was killed there.
