Court prohibits public transport strike in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague

A judge in Amsterdam ruled today that the public transport strike, that was announced for tomorrow morning, can not continue.

The management of the three public transport companies in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague had taken the unions to court about the call to strike.

The judge did not let the strike go through, because the reason, the general increase of the retirement age from 65 to 67, has no connection with the labour relations with the local public transport companies.

The unions had already decided they will follow the court's decision.
