Auschwitz commemoration in Amsterdam Wertheim park

Today was the Auschwitz commemoration in the Wertheim Park in Amsterdam.

Mayor Job Cohen held a speech, commemorating the 67 trains that went the concentration camp in Auschwithz and that departed from the Netherlands, carrying 60,000 people.

Like every year, the commemoration took place in the Wertheim Park, at the 'Mirror monument' created by Jan Wolkers.

Prior to the ceremony there was a silent parade, by approximately 1,000 people, from the City Hall to the monument.
At the ceremoney there were representatives of the Dutch government, and the ambassadors of Israel and Germany.
