The yearly list of most unsafe cities in the Netherlands is now topped by Eindhoven.
The number 1 on the list used to be Rotterdam, and a year ago Amsterdam was number 6.
The list is published by the newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, and based on figures supplied by the 25 police regions in the country. Common crimes are counted, and crimes having to do with violence and house burglary are counted double.
It is not clear from the list why Amsterdam has gone down, but the decrease in crime rates in Amsterdam has also become apparent in other types of research.
